ROLLS ROYCE MOTOR CARS KL TAKES OFF WITH A NEW DEALERSHIP APPOINTMENT

Rolls-Royce marque gets a boost in Malaysia through the appointment of Quill Motorcars Sdn Bhd as its authorized dealer yesterday. In a media release, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur, headed by its Managing Director Dato’ Michael Ong, made it official that Quill Motorcars Sdn Bhd, part of the Quill Group of Companies, has successful attained dealership of the the Rolls Royce brand. Quill Motorcars SB has also been recently appointed as one of the BMW dealers in the Klang Valley.
Speaking about the new appointment, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region, Colin Kelly said, “The new dealership re-establishes an official Rolls-Royce retail and aftersales presence in Malaysia, signifying the company’s confidence in the market. With both the Rolls-Royce Phantom family and the new Ghost, we are able to offer the pinnacle in luxury motoring to Malaysians. We will be working with our new dealer partner to establish the highest standards of Rolls-Royce motor car ownership.”
Ong added, “We are honoured to be able to offer the world’s best automobiles, and aspire to develop and provide for a vibrant Rolls-Royce community in Malaysia.”
The new dealership, the first to be established in Malaysia, brings the number of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars dealers worldwide to 83. A dedicated Rolls-Royce showroom and service facility in excess of 2,500 square feet will be developed in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The flagship showroom will be based at Quill headquarters in Quill 9, 112 Jalan Semangat, 46300Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
For 2010, Rolls-Royce has a five model line-up: Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, Phantom Drophead Coupé, Phantom Coupé and the all-new Rolls-Royce Ghost, the first of a new model series, which is due to preview in Kuala Lumpur by the end of the month.
The Phantom (above left) and Phantom Extended Wheelbase (above right) were introduced way back in 2003 to reflect on Rolls Royce founder Sir Henry Royce's philosophy of “Strive for perfection in everything you do'. Since the company was founded in 1904, Rolls-Royce has been inspired by one thing above all else – the pursuit of perfection – and the Phantom is testament to that philosophy. Representing the very finest in automotive engineering and design, it is a true Rolls-Royce for the 21st century.
After the Phantom's debut that year, 2004 saw the Phantom Drophead Coupé (above) heralded as the second model from Rolls-Royce since BMW Group became custodian of the marque in 1998.
The two-door, four-seat convertible is a less formal interpretation of classic Rolls-Royce design. Using the lightweight rigidity of an all-aluminium spaceframe, it marries modern technology to a sleek, streamlined convertible body. Its exterior lines echo the timeless styling: a long bonnet, large-diameter wheels, short front and long rear overhangs and the quintessential dynamic line descending along its flanks. Inside, the design emphasises the airy openness of top-down motoring, embracing the elements and creating a stunning, social environment.
Between 2006 - 08, the Phantom Coupe (above) became the third model to be introduced into the Rolls-Royce lline-up. The Coupé is the most driver-orientated model in the Phantom line. A number of subtle but significant modifications have been made that change its character. It is noticeably more dynamic, whilst still offering incredible levels of comfort a balance not easily achieved.
In addition, the Coupé marries cutting-edge technology with a beautifully proportioned, muscular body that exudes power and style. Utterly contemporary in appearance, it nonetheless incorporates timeless Rolls-Royce design cues such as the long bonnet, large-diameter wheels, short front and long rear overhangs and the classic dynamic, rising profile.
