Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service today introduced its latest flat panel TVs: the AQUOS Net TV range and the gargantuan 70-inch LED LCD. The flagship 60-inch AQUOS Net TV is part of the LE835X series with 3D.

The 70-inch big screen codenamed LC70LE735X was produced in the full HD panel and equipped with Sharp's renowed Quattron 4-primary color technology. Sharp is the only supplier in the market to have reached the status quo of producing the largest flat panel TV in the world. Both the 70" and 60" LE835X 3D TV receive plenty technological and features updates, including Sharp's UV2A Quattron Super Luminous technology for bright and crisp viewing, Crosstalk reduction, the Aqua Motion Pro, Time Shift technology for digital broadcasts, Net TV for browsing and related online activities, and a host of 'Eco' features like; power-save mode, auto standby self-timer, among others. "Producing the bigger size panels can be materialized as it was made by world renowned Sharp Green Front Sakai, which is the only plant in the industry that fabricates the 10th generation mother glass substrates," Mr H. Nuizato, Managing Director of Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service, explained. "Producing bigger size panels ensure better viewing experience. If you're going large screen, it better be Sharp!"

Although the 70" doesn't include 3D viewing, the LE835X TVs do, with a choice of four screen sizes to choose from: 40-inch, 46-inch, 52-inch and 60-inch screens. These Net TVs are equipped with the Quattron 4-color technology and a host of features similar to that of the 70-inch TV.

The market of LCD TV is advancing due to the demand for sophisticated LCDs, technology upgrades, and competitive prices amongst major LCD TV makes. Starting from LCD TV, the trend then developed into the LED LCD TV phase two years ago and 3D TV a year on. Now,  Smart TVs and Net TVs take the market by storm as more people are watching not only normal or cable broadcasts, but online television or internet streaming programs as well.  As Malaysia's fourth biggest supplier of LCD and LED TVs, the Sharp brand is no stranger amongst lifestyle consumers and electronics enthusiasts. In 2011, Sharp holds 13 to 14% of the 1.3 million flat-panel/LCD/LED TVs market share in the country.

"Our market share for 2011 has been satisfactory. By the end of the year, Sharp expects to sell more than 175,000 AQUOS LCD TVs. We are committed to increase that percentage by 1 -  2% in the next fiscal year based on the forecasted figure of LCD TVs demand of 1.6 million units. We foresee that the targets are achievable due to the expansion of our AQUOS line-ups and on-going growth of consumer demand of LCDs. Also, the conversion from CRT to LCD and reduction in Plasma TVs production are contributory factors," Nuizato said.

The company will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2012. As a century-old company, Sharp has endured plenty of ups and downs and persevered against numerous challenges to rise to prominence in the industry. In the 100-year period, Sharp has set several honors in Japan and the world; first assembly and marketing of crystal radio sets in 1925, first mass production of TVs in 1953, first Plasmacluster Ion technology in 2000 and first 4-color technology or Quattron in 2010.

Sharp will kick off its AQUOS TVs campaign in a major way through videos, CSRs and on-ground activities; one part as the official partner of EURO 2012 and the second to commemorate the 100-year bash with a tagline "Grabbing your Heart since 1912!".

The 70-inch LC70LE735X starts its retail today at a recommended selling price of RM18,999.
