New MINIs in Baker Street & Baywater trims at One Utama

MINI Malaysia, a division of BMW Group Malaysia, debut its limited edition MINI Cooper Baker Street and Cooper S Bayswater at the week's MINI Adrenaline Auto Bavaria at One Utama Mall in Petaling Jaya.

In its design, the MINI Cooper Baker Street represents a continued evolution of MINI’s design language with an emphasis on the brand’s urban cultural interpretation. In its exterior, the standard paint finish for the Baker Street is the Rooftop Grey Metallic; three other body colors are also available for view - Rooftop Grey, Pepper White and Midnight Black - at 1 U. All colors are matched with black roofing. The contemprary MINI look is further stressed with 16-inch aluminium 6-Star Twin-Spoke rims in Nightfever Black as well as special MINI Baker Street labels at the bonnet stripes, mirror caps and front wings.

The Cooper S Baywater combines motorsport styling with urban cool as part of its unique package of extras. Particularly dynamic, the Cooper S Bayswater is ideal for the sportier drivers. It showcases exclusive Kite Blue Metallic exterior paint finishes as standard and is also available in the choice of Eclipse Grey Metallic and Midnight Black Metallic. Unlike any other MINI, the limited edition model features special elements making it recognizable from a distance - special bonnet stripes, and its model name on the front wings as well as 17-inch Sanblast Turned light alloy rims in Jet Black as standard.

In its interior, the Baker Street MINI gets a signature Cross Check design, contrasted with Rooftop Grey Light finishes which matches cleverly to its exterior surface colors on its leather and cloth seats.The color line of this MINI is also in Rooftop Grey which adds to the special expression of the car. Furthermore, entry strips and side scuttle (door sill) with Baker Street inscriptions, and light grey floor mats, gear knob and handbrake put this limited edition MINI at an extra desirable plateau.

The Cooper S Baywater, on the other hand, is all about sportiness and dynamism. Its athletic look and feel is actuated with features such as the Punch Rocklike Anthracite leather trims, with contrast stitching in a choice of Blue or Brown. For even greater exclusivity, the interior surfaces are also topped with sleek Piano Black MINI Bayswater finish, reflecting the graphics on the bonnet stripes. Additionally, the seat badges and door sill finishers which feature the MINI Bayswater lettering give the vehicle a distinctive look, typically envied by members of its pack. The gearshift and handbrake gaiters are also made of leather with a choice of Blue or Brown stitching, complementing the rest of the sports-elegant interior which include the floor mats with Anthracite contract stitching and edging.

Under the stripped bonnet of the Cooper Baker Street is the already the well-established powerplant of the MINI Cooper - the four-cylinder 1.6 litre engine capable of churning out a maximum power output of 20hp with a torque reading 160 Nm. This burst of power enables the Cooper Baker Street to achieve its 0 – 100KM acceleration in 10.4 seconds whilst only consuming an average of 6.7 litres per 100 km of fuel as well as an average CO2 Emission of only 156 grams per kilometre.  The Cooper S Baywater takes up a twin scroll turbo charged 1.6 litre engine capable of a maximum output of  184 hp with a torque reading of 240Nm. The engine enables the MINI to achieve its 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.2 seconds whilst only consuming 6.7 litres per 100 KM of fuel as well as only emitting 155 grams of CO2. 

The retail price (on the road for personal registration, without insurance, with the MINI Tender Loving Care service package) for the new MINI Cooper Baker Street is RM198,888 and the MINI Cooper S Bayswater is RM248,888.
