After three years of shelf life the Suzuki SX4 Crossover has been given minor uplifts that are pertinent on the exterior and interior. Not only inside and out, the Crossover also incorporates a bit of safety feature upgrades. Domestic distributors Suzuki Automobile Malaysia (SAM) today made available the Sport Crossover SX4 in two variants: Standard and Premium.
Since its introduction in 2007, the SX4 remains an important variant in SAM's current line-up, especially amongst young professionals. The Crossover's styling and intricacies appeal to young entrepreneurs, certain first-time car buyers, and most of all it's a valid choice for females. Furthermore, the SX4 Crossover on sport sentiments is one of the few unique compact and SUV vehicles in the domesic market. More importantly, the SX4 embodies Suzuki Motor Corporation's “Way of Life” philosophy and brand vision, in that the car promotes driving pleasures and core intricacies like fun, pride of ownership, and decent interior and boot space.

Exterior-wise, the uplifted SX4 takes up a bolder front bumper and newly designed chrome front grille to exude a more dynamic front fascia. The side maintains the previous editon's proportionate dimensions from wheelbase to the slightly protruding wheel arches: front and rear. At the rear, the SX4 retains the duck-tailed spoiler at the top of the windshield glass; combination lights and step-up bumper. Now, 16" tyres and alloy wheels replace the former 15-inch tyres and wheels, adding a more radical overall look.

On the inside, the uplifted SX4 features dark-chromed instrument panel with rounded dials for the revs, speed, fuel gauge and temperature readings, as well as chrome-finish garnish on the center console, inherited from its bigger sibling, the Suzuki Kizashi. Additionally, seat fabrics and door inserts get fresher materials.
The SX4 continues to be equipped with a 1.6-liter 16-valve DOHC VVT (Variable Valve Timing) engine, mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It outputs 110PS and 150Nm of torque as per the previous SX4's spec. sheet.
In addition to ABS, EBD with Brake Assist features, the SX4 now has an added safety feature in the form of the Brake Override System : The Brake override enables drivers to halt the vehicle if the accelerator pedal becomes stuck. Thereafter, the throttle-override comes into effect to stop the car when the brake and accelerator pedals are depressed at the same time.

New Managing Director Keiichi Suzuki who prior to assuming command at SAM has joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1991 and supervised the Japanese Sales division. From 1996 onwards, Suzuki transferred to the Overseas Marketing division to head Suzuki's European markets, then various Asian countries. The twenty one -year Suzuki Motor Corp. veteran is now posted in Malaysia to lead SAM into the second half of the year and beyond.
On the new SX4, Suzuki reiterated, "The new Suzuki SX4 Sport Crossover 1.6L VVT is specifically refined to incorporate exciting new features, adding more dynamism and substantiality to an internationally-acclaimed car that’s renowned for its fun driving performance and exuberant styling."
SAM offers the uplifted SX4 Sport Crossover in Standard and Premium variants at RM91,888 and 96,888 respectively.
